Roland's career spans over three decades of technology and innovation leadership, in large-scale executive capacities as well as in startup leadership roles. He started his professional career developing new to the world packet networking and distributed systems technologies at 3Com and Interphase. He then played pivotal roles driving massive revenue growth at Cisco, first in EMEA field leadership positions, then in product leadership in internet access, broadband, and core router markets as a General Manager of business units, during the foundational internet buildout years.As President and CEO of Arch Rock, Roland led the creation of new industry categories in the areas of IPv6-based sensing, internet of things, and smart grid and energy analytics and optimisation. Roland subsequently led Cisco's cloud innovations as the General Manager of its Data Center Business Group, then its overall technology strategy as Chief Technology Officer. He recently served as Chief Business Officer at PsiQuantum, where he led the company's customer and market facing functions as well as the quantum application engineering team developing algorithms and tools to solve customer applications.Roland is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and Télécom Paris in France, and he holds a M.Sc. degree in Statistics from Texas A&M University, where he also served as an Advisor to its Masters in Business Analytics program.
